On 30th Nov 2011, Principal Ms Mary Mullarkey officially opened an art exhibition in the school assembly area entitled ‘Identity’, created by Leaving Certificate Applied Year 1 students. As part of their general education course, students were given the task to stage an event. The students excelled in this task and spent several months creating a wide range of artworks such as prints, paintings and animations for their exhibition, which they hosted for over 100 students, teachers and family members. They transformed the assembly area into an art gallery space and an enjoyable afternoon for all their guests.

Exhibition Day - Drawings projected onto the walls
Finished animation film entitled ''Identity''
Student created a Stop Motion Animation film, by transferring drawings onto a sheet of acetate and projecting it onto a white board, each step of the drawings was then photographed and imported into Windows movie maker.
Students also documented the exhibition day using photography and video. They then learnt how to import these videos, cut, edit, add music and create a final film using Windows Movie Maker. Each student made their own video and Ms Kelly choose one to be viewed on the blog. Well done to Michelle Taylor for being selected!
