Doodle 4 Google 2012

The theme for this year's Doodle 4 Google was 'I WISH....'
Over 100 CCS students entered their designs, and six were selected to represent the school.  Sadly none of the designs made it pass the judging process this year. To view the winning design clink on the link below.

Summer in March?!

What an amazing week of sunshine just before the Easter Holidays.... the perfect excuse to go outside and draw our local environment! Students produced some fantastic charcoal and pencil sketches of the local church and school grounds.

2nd Year Project - My Local Environment

My Local Environment.
This project will be an investigation into the streets, buildings, architecture and landscape of your local environment. Students must gather interesting images and information from various different sources. For example around the school, your home, your street. To gather this information students may use:

• Google Street View
• Photographs
• Videos
• Observational Drawings

1. First task is to create a Mind Map of visual images of your ideas for the project. Mind Maps are all the visual images and words you can think of that are associated with your theme or subject matter. Here are some good examples to give you ideas. (click on the images to view larger size)

2. Research and Discuss the following Artists

David Hockney

Vincent Van Gogh  

Jack B Yeats

3. Create A5 pieces of art works, using a variety of different mediums
4. Students will develop several drawings into a final design for a:

• Pastel Drawing  
• Stamp design
• Lino Print    
• Etching

Here are some examples of the projects so far. At the end of the project Ms Kelly with pick a Student and Project of the Year from each 2nd Year Art Class. Best of luck...keep up the great work!
